Neuromuscular Therapy Massage

This comprehensive program of soft-tissue manipulation balances the body’s central nervous system with the musculoskeletal system. Based on neurological laws that explain how the central nervous system initiates and maintains pain, the goal is to help relieve the pain and dysfunction by understanding and alleviating the underlying cause. Neuromuscular therapy can help individuals who experience distortion and biomechanical dysfunction, which is often a symptom of a deeper problem. It is also used to locate and release spasms and hypercontraction in the tissue, eliminate trigger points that cause referred pain, rebuild the strength of injured tissues, assist venous and lymphatic flow, and restore postural alignment, proper biomechanics, and flexibility to the tissues.

Carter Draves

I have been practicing Massage Therapy since graduating from Heartwood Institute in Garberville, CA in 1995. My style is an Integrative Deep approach that incorporates various modalities tailored to my clients individual desires and needs. I offer hands on support for those releasing accumulated stress, recovering from injury, and rediscovering greater comfort and well-being in the body and mind. My foundation is heart centered energy work with longer strokes coupled with more focused deeper pressure. I also have many years experience working with pregnant and post partum moms and the particular areas that often require more attention at this time. I have advanced training in Swedish, Deep Tissue and PreNatal Massage, along with Reiki, Neuromuscular, and Reflexology. I blend these together uniquely for each person I work with.
